German A1 Course – The Absolute Beginner (Breakthrough)

Course Goal:

To establish a foundational understanding of German, enabling you to communicate in very simple, everyday situations. You will be able to introduce yourself, ask and answer basic personal questions, and interact provided your conversation partner speaks slowly and clearly.

Who is this course for?

This course is for absolute beginners with no or very little previous knowledge of the German language.

What you will learn:

Speaking

Introduce yourself and others, talk about your family, hobbies, and profession. Use common phrases and conduct the simplest everyday conversations.

Listening

Recognise familiar words and basic phrases when people speak slowly and clearly. Understand simple conversations about familiar topics.

Reading

Understand familiar names, words, and very simple sentences on signs, posters, or menus.

Writing

Write simple sentences (e.g., Mein Name ist Anna) and fill out basic forms.
