German B1 Course – The Independent User (Threshold)

Course Goal:

To achieve independent use of the language. You will be able to understand the main points of clear standard input and deal with most situations that arise while traveling in a German-speaking area.

Who is this course for?

This course is for students who have successfully completed the A2 level and want to solidify their language skills to speak and write more coherently and complexly.

What you will learn:

Speaking

Deal with most situations while traveling. Enter unprepared into conversations on familiar or personal interest topics (e.g., family, work, current events). Describe experiences, events, dreams, hopes, and ambitions.

Listening

Understand the main points of clear standard speech and many radio or TV programs on current affairs.

Reading

Understand texts using high-frequency, job-related, or everyday language. Comprehend newspaper articles and personal letters.

Writing

Produce simple connected text on familiar subjects. Give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans. Write semi-formal letters/emails.
